Schedule

This year’s training retreat is an overnight event. Plan to arrive early Saturday morning, June 8th. Classes will start at 10am. Classes end Sunday, June 9th at noon. A teacher training will occur in the afternoon after lunch (purple and up). The retreat is a mix of scheduled class time, social events, and unprogrammed relaxation time. We will post the schedule of classes prior to the retreat. If you have not attended one of our training retreats before and are wondering what it's like, ask around before or after class to get insights from other students or teachers. Camp Burton It’s a lovely location and the retreat is a fantastic opportunity to train with focus and purpose and get to know your fellow students better.

Cost

The retreat cost is $175. This is the true cost of the retreat. The registration cost covers one night of accommodations, three meals, and incidental facility costs. A reduced rate is also available on a sliding scale of $100/$125/$150. There are a limited number of full scholarships available by request. Please email Sifu Gina at gina@sevenstarwomenskungfu.com to request a full scholarship or to discuss alternative payment options (i.e. a payment plan). We are also offering a “solidarity rate” this year of $200 for those of you who have the financial means to offset the reduced rate cost. This is a training retreat for Seven Star students only. Childcare is not provided for this event. PLEASE NOTE: There is a cost associated with transportation to the retreat. The Vashon Ferry costs approximately $22.25 for a car and 1 driver, with an additional $6.50/passenger. Please plan to split costs with the driver if you are carpooling.

To get to Camp Burton: Take the Fauntleroy/Vashon Ferry. Need a ride? Want to offer a ride? Fill out our carpool form. Covid Considerations

This is a masks optional event, but please make sure to bring masks (surgical masks or better) with you. We encourage all students to take a rapid Covid test prior to arrival. Please be mindful of your activities the week leading up to the retreat. We will be assigning cabins. If you have fellow students you want to pod up with, you can list preferences at registration. Given the need to balance cabin sizes and distribution of students we cannot guarantee you will get your preferred cabinmates. Talent Show/Campfire Sing-along

Last year’s talent show was such a success we are planning another one for this year! Contact Sarah Flory and Natalie Lowell if you are interested in participating. Play a musical instrument? Bring it along for the campfire sing-along after the talent show. We’ll also have our usual array of games, puzzles, and coloring books in Grisham Hall on Saturday night.
