About the Class: The Beginner’s Cycle is open to all individuals who identify as women and non-binary/genderfluid folks (age 13+). The beginner’s cycle is your first step on your training path at Seven Star. In this 6-week introductory series, you’ll learn the basics of our kung fu style, Kajukenbo, as well as valuable self defense skills/strategies. Don’t worry if you think you are not in shape! You will see yourself progress through the weeks as you gain strength, flexibility, balance, coordination and confidence. No prior experience required. Upon completion of the class, you are officially a white belt at our school and can attend up to four different classes a week.

Class Times: Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:30-9pm.

Class Participation Requirements:
We are currently a masks optional building. However, the beginner’s cycle is a masks required class. This is subject to change based on local (King County) Covid conditions.
Sign our release of claims form (or the release form for minors) prior to your first class.
While we understand some absences are unavoidable, the expectation is that you will strive to attend classes twice a week.
Wear comfortable clothing to class. Pants should cover your knees. Shirts should be sturdy enough to be grabbed. Our windows are open throughout the duration of class for ventilation purposes. Wear layers that you can remove as you warm up in class. Street shoes and plain socks are not allowed on our training floor. You can train barefoot or in training shoes.
Short nails and no jewelry or fragrances during class.

Refund Policy:
Refund requests prior to the first class are subject to a $20 administrative fee. Refund requests made after the first day of the beginner’s cycle will be charged a 30% late cancellation fee. No refunds will be issued after the first week of the beginner’s cycle. Registration can be transferred to a later beginner’s cycle date free of charge.
