Seven Star’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) Working Group

Seven Star created a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) working group in 2019. The group is made up of students and teachers across all belt ranks. The group meets monthly to discuss and address issues of diversity and inclusion as it pertains to Seven Star’s culture and mission. Their goal is to help Seven Star promote DE&I and social justice in all aspects of its work. Any student is welcome to join this group, regardless of previous experience working on diversity and equity topics. Students who have a desire to be a part of this group should email Sifu Allyson for more information. Click below for more information on some of the DE&I Working Group's recent efforts.

This work plan will help Seven Star promote DE&I and social justice in all aspects of its work. The describes proposed actions and how we hope they will make Seven Star and the Seven Star community more diverse, just, and equitable. Each action we undertake will move us gradually in the direction of intersectional justice and help us empower those who look to us to model change.
